Being from Canada, I have a very soft spot in my heart for Lumberjack Plaid.
I have owned many and still look longingly at them in my closet. They are the quintessential camp and outside work wear.
Essentially there is nothing wrong with plaid.
What happened is it got over saturated. Classic supply and demand. When there is too much supply, no one wants it anymore. So we move on and find something new and unattainable.
What plaid did for our wardrobe was great! It added in an element of visual texture to mens otherwise solid and (ahem) boring clothing choices. Also it is the gateway into real pattern.
If you like plaid, you will love pattern.
The reason is choice. First let's describe what pattern means to Batch: basically anything other than plaids, checks, stripes, or solid. With pattern your choices and styles becomes endless. You can carve out a niche for yourself.
Like how the dog you choose says a lot about you and your personality, so to can be said for your choice of pattern. Are you refined and sophisticated, bold and colorful, conversational and curious? The right pattern will tell that story.
What story will you tell today?
